Slam Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe…

It’s time to bake. Lots of time on your hands?? How about making these amazingly good cookies for your household or share some with your neighbors as a kind gesture. We are all in this together!!!. Also baking is a great activity to keep the kids occupied. I call these cookies Slam Cookies because during the cooking process you have to slam the baking sheet multiply times on a hard surface so it gives the cookies a ripple effect. these truly are amazing cookies. You can also add pecans if you must have pecans but it changes the entire cookie , still good but a completely different cookie. Here we go… Happy baking..

Slam Chocolate Chip Cookies

2 cups all purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

3/4 teaspoon salt

2 sticks butter, room temperature

1 1/2 Cups granulated sugar

1/4 cup dark brown sugar, packed (you can use light if that is what you have)

1 egg

1 1/2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract

2 tablespoons water

3 ounces milk chocolate cooking bar chopped coarsely( I broke up by hand)

3 ounces semi sweet chocolate bar chopped coarsely

Place oven rack in middle of the oven. Spray 2 baking sheets with cooking spray(I use Trader Joes Coconut Cooking Spray) or line with parchment paper

In a small bowl whisk together the flour, salt and baking soda

In your stand mixer(kitchenaid) bowl fitted with paddle attachment, add the butter and beat on medium until creamy.

Add both sugars to bowl and beat until fluffy like, about 2 to 3 mins

Add egg, vanilla and 2 tablespoons water and beat on low for 1 to 2 mins

Slowly , slowly pour in the flour mixture a little at a time mixing on low until all is added and combined.

Add Chocolate and mix on low until combined (you can know continue to cooking the cookies or refrigerate the dough for up to 24 hours)

Heat oven to 350 degrees

Using a dry ingredient measuring cup, form balls of a heaping 1/3 cup each. Place 6 balls each well spaced out on prepared pan

Transfer to freezer for 15 mins

After 15 mins take out 1 pan and put in a newly prepared pan

Place pan right out of freezer into oven and bake for 10 mins. After 10 mins take pan out of oven and slam it down on the counter or open oven to create a ripple in the cookie.

After cookies puff up again after 2 to 3 mins repeat the slamming. repeat every 3 mins

Bake a total of 16 to 18 mins until the edges are golden brown. Center will be much lighter and softer

Take out of oven and let cool on pan. Repeat with the rest of the cookies

Enjoy! These are so good
